Chillicothe Correctional Center was involved in several activities for Crime Victims' Rights Week. On 4/14/08, a brief article appeared in the local paper outlining the purpose of Crime Victims' Rights week.

On 4/15/08, a ceremony was held on the south lawn of the Livingston County Courthouse featuring guest speaker Deputy Jennifer Plummer of the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. The ceremony was opened by Associate Warden Steve Moore, and the Invocation and Benediction were offered by Reverend Doug Elkins of the New Life Fellowship Church. Entertainment was provided by the Grand River Harmony Chorus, a chapter of the Sweet Adeline's singing group, which included Vocational Instructor Norma Venable and CCA Paula Dinwiddie.

In addition, Lowe's graciously donated two pampas grass plants to be placed at Danner Park in the area dedicated to crime victims.

On 4/17/08, a ceremony was held at CCC in the evening. Ms. Jennifer Miller, Warden, opened the ceremony. The CCC offender choir performed two songs, as did guest musician Andy Derrickson. Two poems were read by offender participants, and two victims were present to speak on their experiences. As a gesture of thanks, the victim speakers were presented with quilts created by offenders through restorative justice activities.

Members of the Crime Victims' Rights Week Committee included: Rose Derrickson, FUM; Carroll Franklin, CCWI; Tammy Toot, CCA; Marsha Olenhouse, OSAK; Brian Clark, COI; Norma Venable, Vocational Instructor; Steve Collins, Fire and Safety; and Kelly Peterie-Kissick, POII.
