Volunteer and Intern Program

Volunteers and interns complete an extensive training regimen before assignment and are supervised under state and departmental personnel rules and regulations. Volunteers and interns work directly with incarcerated offenders and offenders in the community under the supervision of correctional staff.

To further discuss your desire to volunteer or intern with the Department of Corrections, you may contact the Institutional Activities Coordinator (IAC) or Chaplain at the Correctional Center or the Volunteer Coordinator at the Probation and Parole Office where you desire to volunteer or intern. You may initiate the process to become a volunteer or the process to become an intern by completing the Volunteer/Intern Application and submitting it to the IAC or the Volunteer Coordinator. As a potential volunteer, you may request a program visit by completing the Application for Facility Access and making arrangements with the IAC at the correctional facility.
